So! We're thinking of starting up a roleplaying game at our house, and hope that you'll be able to join. If you're interested, here's the current plan, and some ideas I've had for a campaign:
Place: our house, 10855 31st SW.
Time: We're thinking Sunday afternoons, maybe 1-ish?
Frequency: Maybe twice a month?
Game systems: Here's where we need your input on what you're most interested in/comfortable with. If any of these sound more appealing than the others, or less appealing than the others, let me know:
Systems I have books for:
The basics: swashbuckling in alterna-Europe in the late 1600's, with the 'good bits' of European history from vaguely that era thrown in, plus some magic. The system itself isn't quite as swashbuckly as its creators would have liked it to be, but it can be appropriated for the task.

One option for a purely adventuring group would be to do a 'West Marches' style game (http://arsludi.lamemage.com/index.php/78/grand-experiments-west-marches/) where the world is set in stone and the players venture out into it, questing for fame and glory.
If we went with 7th Sea, one idea I'd like to try at some point (but which not might be the best idea for starting off?) is to have a 'Los Vagos' campaign, the 7th Sea version of a Zorro secret society. I'm particularly interested in trying a game tied to a place very familiar to the characters, where the adventures come to meet the players, instead of the other way 'round. If ST:TNG is the traditional adventuring party, this would be the equivalent of DS9 or B5. Los Vagos is tied to the Spain-equivalent country in 7th Sea (Castille), and is generally dedicated to fighting the injustices of the inquisition and protecting Castille's boy king from plots and politicking. If we went with this, I'd want to start with both character creation and town creation, and figure out a lot of connections between the players and each other, and other prominent NPCs in the town.
Another 7th Sea idea would be to leave the continent entirely and send you off on a mission to discover/explore the America-equivalent (officially undiscovered in the books).
If we did SotC in the default setting, I'd probably get adventure ideas for you all as a by-product of character creation. It has a pretty good method for group character creation where you all make up previous adventures you've been on with each other, and a lot of grist for the mill gets generated. I'm open to SotC in other settings as well--we did one online game with SotC in a Conan-esque world, which worked out pretty well.
Campaign style: I'm inclined to go with something short-ish at first with a natural conclusion that we could then do a sequel to if we were all still having fun with it. And then when the probably-longer sequel is done, we could then again either do another sequel or switch to something new.
