Johnny Falcone, dashing swordsman and con artist. Born: Giovanni de Rossi AKA: Jack Flynn, Romeo Silvestri, Miguel Reyes, Mickey the Falcon, Jean-Michelle Richard, Lord Sylvester Carrington, (Young) Lord Ricky Carrington, Abdikarim Sharif Currently: John Ross BACKSTORY Presumably born somewhere in Vodacce, precise date unknown. As an infant, he was found on the doorstep of an orphanage in southeast Avalon in a basket with a note introducing him as "Giovanni de Rossi". Growing up, his tanned complexion and foreign name led people some to mock and ostracize him. Instead of lashing out, Johnny learned how to put on a false face and how to charm people into overlooking their suspicions of him. He learned how to blend into any situation and to make friends with almost anyone. Throughout his life, Johnny has gone through a number of different jobs (some honest, some less so) and names. About five years ago, he was working (under the name "Jack Flynn") as a bodyguard for a rich merchant named Henry Davis who was distributing swords and armor which were claimed to be dracheneisen. Snooping around, "Jack" discovered that the dracheneisen was actually a metallic alloy crafted with the help of an ancient device that had been discovered in Davis' mine. Further, he was secretly forcing children from the nearby orphanage to work in the mine for free, lest the be evicted. Even *further*, it turns out that the orphanage, the mine, and the artifact should all legally have belonged to the orphans in the first place. Outraged, Jack naturally robbed Davis, stealing the device, the legal paperwork, enough fake-dracheneisen to craft a nice sword, and as much cash as he could carry. Unfortunately, this did not go entirely unnoticed: before he could make it to the orphange to give them the device and the paperwork, he was forced to flee from Davis' *other* guards as well as the local police. He managed to stuff the papers through the letter slot of the town clerk's office on his way out to the harbor, but he still had everything else on him when he fast-talked his way onto the Golden Parrot (using the name "Johnny Falcone") just minutes before its early-morning launch. As far as Johnny knows, the device, the fake-dracheneisen, and the money all went down with the ship. After the Parrot sank, Johnny (or rather, "John Ross") worked as an itinerant gravedigger, working his way up to unofficial assistant coroner and undertaker (in which position he would comfort the bereaved and relieve the deceased of any possessions unlikely to help them in the afterlife). Later, he would move to Catterick, where he is employed as general court clerk (managing files, assisting the magistrate and barristers, overseeing the care of prisoners, and any other duty which he happened to be conveniently around when someone was needed for). Consequently, while still maintaining a somewhat low profile, he has garnered a non-trivial amount of power and influence over the local court (and has more than once secretly cooperated with local criminals to ensure an appropriate outcome for a given case).
