Arc Bradac Age: 30 Gender: Male Religion: Church of the Great Sun Background: Arc was the heir to an estate lying to the south of Arrona. The estate included a swathe of fertile farmland, that made the family quite wealthy. But times were changing, and grow up, Arc had little appetite for the traditional responsibilities of a lord to be - taking only the barest minimum of martial training, and totally neglecting studies in proper management. Rather, he was obsessed with tales of adventure and so forth, to the shame of his parents. Then, one winter, a psychometrist came into the estate. Arc demanded to be trained, as he saw such an ability in magic as a shortcut to avoid years of tedious tuition. But psychometry only works as well as the materials it was provided with, and once he came into inheritance, the estate became plagued by misrule and archaic strong-arm tactics he employ to force obedience. Eventually, karma caught up with him, and Arc was revealed as a psychometrist. Amidst a revolt by suspicious peasantry, and fearing those wanted to collect the debts he ran up, he fled into the city. While hiding from his past, he went through a number of false identities and professions. Eventually, he found refuge at the hand of Lady Ricker, and now hopes to redeem himself and his family's name in loyal and honorable service. Priorities: Social Position > Stats > Skills > Karma Social position: Minor nobility. While his years of flight has caused him to lose much possessions and respect, he still has a few family heirlooms stashed around. He also has a number of acquaintances that he is on good terms with, and can, with a little luck, call upon them. He claims to have taken them from a Catelan noble he slew on the battlefield, though you have never been impolite enough to verify this yourself. A keen sportsman, he mostly used them to shoot squirrels and ducks, but he did win at least one duel with them. Can grant Pistols 13 (quick-draw, weapon maintenance, quick reload, flying target). Friends of your late father could easily recognise them, however. Difficulty: -1 (detailed owner history) Gamekeeper's Headscarf An item of clothing used to conceal the face while sneaking about, acquired when its owner died childless and his possessions were auctioned off; the man in question was not only a woodsman, but a village headman. You can acquire any of Woodcraft 12 (stealth, trapping, tracking, +reliability), Village Politics 10 (public speaking, picking up gossip), Agricultural Planning 13 (crop rotation, labour organisation, land assessment, tax evasion). The accompanying mannerisms are those of a peasant, which has often helped a great deal in concealing your identity. Difficulty: -1 (frequent use); +1 on Politics and Planning (tangential). Poet's Quill Rummmaging through the trash-heap of the Queen's favourite poetess, you came across a broken quill; this grants Literacy 17 (handwriting, Catelan, Ribeaunais, Etter, code-writing, +reliability) and Literature 17 (love poetry, narrative poetry, letters, knowledge of Etter, Catelan and Arronan literature). It is really rather more than you can deal with at your present ability, but given that you can't read without it, even partial echoes are better than nothing. Difficulty: +3 (damaged object, animal tissue, no intervening touch)
