All you have to go on is the manuscript. Make notes on what's confusing or unclear! -------------------------- THE PLAYTEST PERIOD: Runs from January 3, 2008 to February 29, 2008. -------------------------- WHAT I DON'T NEED: * I don't need you to go through and copy-edit, correcting typos, grammar, and whatnot. We'll be hiring an editor to do that sort of thing. (That being said, if you do notice something egregious, let me know.) * I don't necessarily want many "real-world science" comments ("gravity doesn't work that way!") because this is a cinematic fantasy setting. It's aimed at replicating musketeer and pirate MOVIES more than musketeer and pirate HISTORY, if you dig. * Feel free to talk about the game wherever (especially on the S7S Yahoo Group); however, let me know where/when you do so offlist, so I can keep an eye out for *non-playtester* questions. Actual Play reports are particularly helpful, if you wish to write up such. -------------------------- WHAT I DO NEED: At the end of your playtest sessions, I need answers to the following questions... -------------------------- READING THE BOOK: A. Was there anything you didn't like? (If so, what and why?) B. Did you get bored at any point? (If so, where and why?) C. Is there anything that doesn't seem to fit the swashbuckling genre or a cinematic feel? (If so, what and why?) D. Is there anything that is confusing or utterly unbelievable? (If so, what and why?) E. What did you like in terms of the text? F. What did you like in terms of the (currently minimal) illustrations? G. What did you like in terms of the nano-fiction prose elements? H. What especially grabs your attention? -------------------------- PLAYING THE GAME: A. What was Good, what was Bad, and what was Ugly (or Confusing)? B. Were there any rules that didn't get a lot of play? C. Create a list of the following elements used *by PCs*: C1. Foibles. C2. Motivations. C3. Nationalities. C4. Professions. C5. Fortes. C6. Portmanteaus. C7. Techniques. D. Were you playing a predominently Musketeer or Pirate game (see Chapters 5 and 8)? E. Which Islands were most important/central in your playtest campaign? F. Did you use any of the example NPCs (statted or just mentioned) in your playtest campaign? How did that work out? G. What kind of cool stuff did your GM or players come up with? H. Was access to other S7S GMs/players on the Yahoo group useful? I. Any other observations or comments by GM or players. -------------------------- And that's it! Buckle your swashes, folks!
